Most of the wineries I've visited in South Australia make dozens of different wines and deciding what to taste can be kind of a challenge. So it was a wonderful relief to visit The Willows where they only make three wines. I got to taste two of them, the third is called the "Bonesetter Shiraz" and is available in the States. I want to track down a bottle of it.
2004 Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Brilliant and clear. Big classic Cab nose - strong blackberry and cedar. Big upfront flavor, blackberries and a touch of eucalyptus. AU$23
2003 Barossa Valley Shiraz
Bricky violet, clear. Interesting nose, very different from the other shirazes I've been tasting. Tastes different too, more like a Washington state Syrah. Soft round flavors. Not a hugely long finish, but nice. Milk chocolate. AU$23
