Australia - South Australia - Eden Valley - Irvine

Irvine doesn't have a winery to visit, instead you have to go to the pub in XXXX where they'll let you do complimentary tastings. Unfortunately, they have bad glassware and there's always the smell of beer around so it's not exactly ideal. That might have a lot to do with why my aroma scores are so low.

2004 Merlot
This wine has a very tight nose, almost no aroma. But it tastes beautiful, very round flavors with velvety tannins. Gorgeous finish. I bought a bottle of this and really enjoyed it. Best Merlot I've had in Australia yet. AU$23

2004 Reserve Zinfandel
A classic Northern California style Zinfandel. Not too jammy. Nice finish. AU$32

2002 Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon
Dark plum colors. Oak comes through clearly. A gentle Bordeaux style wine. AU$23

2004 Merlot / Cabernet Franc
Definite Bell Pepper thing on the nose. Smoother tasting than it smells. Finish is very simple. AU$20
