Australia - Western Australia - Great Southern - Harewood Estate

2006 Riesling
Very pale, light hints of green. Great citrus nose - very nice. Beautiful lime and grapefruit flavors. Great acids, it would go so well with food. Nice finish, although a bit one dimensional compared to the flavor. Very clean. AU$21.50

2006 Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon
Very pale, almost clear. Strong Sauvignon Blanc nose - serious gooseberries. Tasted almost completely like a Sauvignon Blanc. Great acid, very clean. Finish looses complexity and falls off fairly rapidly. AU$21.50

2004 Chardonnay
Very pale with a light green tint. Strong vanilla nose. Clean and crisp while still being full of malolactic flavor. Some hints of green beans. Finish is long and quite nice, ending in a nice fruity note. I'm surprised I like this since I'm not a real traditional Chardonnay fan.

2003 Pinot Noir
Light black cherry skin colored. Nose has a truffle hint. Very european, french style wine; this could be a Drouhin if I didn't know better. Dark cherry skin flavors. Finish has some pencil lead thing, finishing in a black cherry flavor. AU$25

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot
Medium dark. Nice nose, the Cab is very restrained, the merlot comes through - no hint of the usual Cabernet green pepper thing. That follows through on the taste, the Merlot is up front with the Cabernet very smooth. Sturdy but not unpleasant tannins. Chocolate and blackberry flavors. This one really grew on me as I tasted it. I'd love to try it again in 3 years. AU$30
